Once again VMware has released another self paced online piece of training for the low low cost of absolutely nothing. Hey, if it’s free why not give it a go right? I’ve never been one to turn down free training of any kind so I’ve started to go through the course myself…
Certainly the free courses that they release do not cover near as much or go as a deep technically as any of their official paid courses but they are a great way to learn the basic functionality and get a great overview of the products they cover. The What’s New in VMware vSphere 5.1 course gives you a great overview of most of the new features that were jam packed into this new release and will for sure help in your day to day administering of your environment.
The course objectives straight from mylearn are below…or the official course details are here.
• Compute and Storage
o Support for hardware version 9, the latest CPU performance counters and virtual shared graphics acceleration designed for enhanced performance.
o For better space efficiency vSphere supports storage space reclamation for VDI.

Network health check

So, if this looks like something you might want to check out head on over to mylearn.vmware.com and sign up! Again, it’s free!!!
it is not free
There is a what’s new course that is 2 days long and that is a paid one. That is the one that qualifies you for VCP and is paid. This one is a self paced course and is free – just confirmed with VMware Education. Thx.
Hi,
thanks for the link, it doesn’t show a link to enroll or is the enroll option available only for vcp5’s. I’ve completed my VCP 5 ICM but haven’t finished the exam yet. Please advise

I don’t thinik you need the VCP – try this link – http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/courses.cfm?ui=www_edu&a=det&id_course=149391
how to get the student id
You will need to register for an account a mylearn.vmware.com – I don’t believe that costs any money for the account itself
